The car finally arrived back from shop.  It's not 100% yest, but its close to where we want it to be.67805032_516982395708507_2718593090095939584_n.thumb.jpg.14cecb9ff1ee9a8bb4337a6cf1165834.jpg

This is my uncle who gave me the car (for free) so my dad and I can work on it.  He is the original owner if the car.  Thanks to him, I now have my "Dream car"!

I made him drive it.

He drove it with his wife , and it brought back a lot of memories.

Sick ride! Not sure if mine will ever run--I do know though that it wont probably ever look that clean!

Enjoy.

Thanks.  As you can see, it was a three year process.  I am blessed that I had the opportunity to work on it with my Dad.

Now that I am off to college, my Dad gets to keep it in our garage so I can use it when I'm home.  Our deal is, he will keep in our garage until I have a place of my own where I can keep the car inside.

I would also tell people to work on the mechanical and electrical components first so you can have the car running.  It doesn't matter how the car looks like, as long as its running and you are able to drive it around.  We were more motivated to get the car done when it was running.

Very nice work and even better, the bonding that it enabled. Through one car you were able to build incredible memories.

Thanks for sharing.

Now put those stock 13" steel wheels back on it ?  Just kidding kinda, because I'm partial to the original steelies...

Car looks great!

As much as I would like to make it as close to original as possible, I still prefer 14" (preferably 15") for practical reasons.  It's not easy to find 13" tires nowadays, and I personally like the stance with the wider wheels/tires.  Thanks for liking the car.  Definitely a labor of love!  :)

You did a fantastic job JC!  I'm probably in the minority when it comes to the 13" wheel likers on this forum.  If you still have those wheels, I would suggest that you hold onto them and keep them with the car.  They are becoming very hard to find these days as most people ditched them a long time ago and now regret it.  You might change your mind some day in the future.  I only wish my cars looked as nice as yours.  Again great work!  It's cool to see the younger folks having an appreciation for these wonderful cars.  A labor of love indeed.  Cheers,

John
