They also painted the engine bay while the engine was still in there. Note that the hood torsion bars had been painted previously, so I had them paint them again.

American Auto Paint and Body did an incredible job. I can not say enough good things about Junior and the boys at American. I feel they did an outstanding job and provided excellent value for the money. I highly recommend them.

I'm also so glad I spent the extra money and went with the upgraded PPG Deltron paint. It made a huge difference. The color just pops. Now, it could be due to today being the rainiest day we've had in Seattle in several years - and that's saying a lot - but the color on this dark, wet day was eye catching.

There were just a few, very minor imperfections that the guys are going to touch up on Monday, then it's off to Midnight Motorsports for reassembly.

More on that in my next post.

@psky, you car just needs to be turned, man. What are you waiting for? Get on Patrick to finish up already ?

We'll be done putting mine back together fairly quickly. You better be done before me!

@psky he knows he needs to finish up your car. I think you've been too easy on him and other things keep sneaking in front of you...like my car. Hahahaha.

I know all about other cars sneaking in front of mine . . . patience? That does look sweet, the door gaps and all is awesome.

@jerryasi

To be clear: I've been on Patrick's calendar for months. I'm just giving @psky some grief.

I didn't want to imply I'm cutting in, or sneaking in front of anybody. If fact, we're going to push to get my car back together as soon as possible so that we clear out space for everyone else.

Well, it looks awesome. Your fortunate to have shops on your side that are familiar with 2002's. My car has been on a rotisserie in Worley Idaho for 2 years with this petrol Porsche, most recently, in front of me in the line. The machine shop that assembled my long block makes their living on SBC's. Now that I have an engine to assemble and no car to install it into, I've fabricated a test stand. I know I have oil pressure, will attempt a start in a few days.

@jerryasi those are for my Viper car alarm and door locks.

And yes, we've installed the Dynamat but we have the front to still finish. Earlier this year Patrick cut out and replaced driver's side frame rail and both front floor boards due to rust. I'll need to go back in and finish the sound proofing up front now that the exterior paint is done. Then a new Etsy carpet kit gets installed on top.
