Paul, I will be listing my '91 318is for sale next week. It runs, but does need engine work before it should be driven for any distance. Other than that, it is a great car: my daily driver for the last 2.5 years, great body/zero rust, cold A/C, good interior, mostly stock except for Bilstein sports with e30 m3 springs and offset m3 lower control arm bushings, aftermarket chip, etc. etc. Virginia inspected until November 2011.Up until this point it had been extremely reliable. (It did a 1,000 mile round trip to central NY last summer and returned 33 mpg.) The odometer stopped at 130k miles; I estimate the actual mileage at 165k or less.

After a lot of work a 318is might be almost as good as a 2002.
