'02 movie sightings: The Baader Meinhof Complex

Just watched it today. It's very violent, but it's also very informative regarding the Red Army Faction during '67 - '77. You will see a few '02's in the movie. You'll also see some older M-B, Audi's, VW's, Opel's, etc. Not a movie you'd take your date to, it's definitely disturbing.

Kind of interesting side note is that the 2002 was the preferred vehicle to steal by the RAF. So much so that '02 owners began putting this bumper sticker on their cars to avoid hassles with the cops. Fat chance!

"I do not belong to the Baader-Meinhof Group." Thousands of young Germans put these stickers on their cars (especially BMWs) in the early 1970s in an effort to dissuade overeager police from pulling them over. The stickers were as much a political statement as a practical one; they told the conservative German population that despite being young and having long hair, not everyone was in the Baader-Meinhof Gang. Now available for the first time in three decades and seen in the major motion picture "The Baader-Meinhof Complex," an exact reproduction of the famous bumper sticker.

I missed the earlier post, complete w/scenes from the film. I too noticed the Squaretail/Roundie mistake quickly. But, I learned that RAF doesn't only stand for Royal Air Force. (Red Army Front) And I learned that Baader is NOT pronounced "BAY-der." (it's more like "Bah-der")

These mofos killed 7 family friends in Patton and Campbell Barracks, Heidelberg when I was in HS. The Campbell Barracks blast was big enough that it knocked you off your feet 300 yards away. It was an interesting time to be in Germany.
