1600-02 Junkyard find in Germany....PICS as of July 20

As this is my first post ever on this board, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is Mike, born in NY. Lived on LI till about 3 yrs ago where I moved to Germany(around Mannheim) with my wife and kids. I own an E30 Touring....at the moment.

So anyway, I was scrounging around a newly discovered(to me) junkyard for rare euro E30 parts when I see a badly faded and rusted 1600-02 Roundie. Many exterior parts and some interior parts, as well as engine parts still looked viable. For example, the (euro) bumpers syll havd very decent looking chrome abd from what I could see, only the rear had a very small ding. The original Hella front fogs still look good as do the Hella H4 headlamps. The taillamps as well as their trim/chrome still look good. The front grills look so-so, the kideys are kaput.

I will post pics when I head back there on Monday. Tell me what else i should be looking for as this is really my first time dealing with a 1600/2002 body, but I hope it's not my last.

Take pix of the fog lights--early OEM 2002 fog lights were rectangular and not halogen; later ones were round but all chrome. Also, the headlight housings on Euro cars are different from the ones used on US cars, so anyone getting the headlights themselves would also need the buckets.

Look at the front turn signals; those flat Euro style ones are desireable over here. Same with any extra Euro style accessories, both interior and exterior.

cheers, and happy hunting.

Yea, what Ohio Mike said. Does that rear bumper have the license plate light in it? If so the are probably a bunch of folks willing to compensate you for labor and shipping. Junk yard finds are a treat.

I'd be interested in the front and rear bumper overriders (guards) and possibly the center grill. Post some pics and let us know if you're interested in shipping parts to the U.S.

TIA,

Karl

Yes, they are the later round style fogs. And the headlamp buckets are intact and on the car. And the front turns are the flats.

Yeah, the rear bumper has the liscence plate lights. And IIRC they are in usable shape.

mikede, do you have a red touring ? I live in Mannheim. Got time to meet Sunday ? If not, when? I will check here in the morning.

Is this who I think it is?? On coleman, with the project 2002?? Today might not be so great but i'll PM you my handy #.

I will take pics tomorrow....and i've never sold any Euro headlamps, so no, it's not me.

And Skelatons, my voicemail didn't give me a phone # so please email it or SMS it to me, thanks. I'll have pics by tomorrow afternoon so it can wait. I may have to come out to Mannheim to meet with the guy that bought my Seta so maybe we can talk then.

Do you know some price of the driver's grill and the OEM fog lights?

The BMW 2002 tii VIN 2719550 was manufactured on July 3rd, 1973 and delivered the same day to the BMW dealer Zeiss & Schwärzel in Mannheim. The original colour was Golf, paint code 070.
