Oil catch tank! What are you guys using??

I need to get one of these. My car is spitting oil and my engine is getting oily. Not to mention the burning oil fumes in the car. It's not bad but I just want a cleaner solution than the filter over the intake manifold. I also have a nice painted valve cover and want to install it but I don't want oils spewed all over it. Thx!

This was my setup a few years ago. Bought on ebay, all I needed was a few hoses. Worked great, just had to empty it every once in a while (comes with a drain underneath).

30" heater hose pointed south is my method 2! I sliced off the most south end at an angle to get that vacuum effect from the air passing by and to get the oil to mist. It is sweet.

Having fun

That works fine if you don't mind misting oil all over the undercarrage. I did that before I realized where the oil ended-up.

I also used to use a hose "pointed south" to vent my M2. Then I got tired of it constantly leaving oily spots on my garage floor. I bought a breather can from Moroso, but all of the ideas mentioned on this page will work. Particularly since aluminum water bottles are so prevalant these days...

Slightly on and off topic ...

Does any one use a PCV valve on their crankcase vent?

Why?

OR

Why not?
