Wow Jim, some WILD turbo setups! Makes my 2002 look conservative...

I've always loved double cabs, especially double cabs with Fuchs...

Jim,

Thanks, for the pics!

I really love the color of the lavender(?)/blue bug in the first pic.

Do you know what the "real" color is?

Regards,

Randy - I think the Bug in Picture # 1 is the same as # 4 & 5. It looks brighter than a stock VW "Dove Blue" - see the Type II double cab pictures. I didn't ask the owner what color it was.

Here is a picture of the front of that double cab.

I saw a really nice set of Fuchs alloys in the swap meet area. Fronts were 14" x 4.5" wide and the rears were 14" x 6" wide. I have always wanted a set, but had to restrain myself.

These are chrome plated (not sure if they are original though)

THEY HAD A PRISTINE '52 SPLIT WINDOW BUG AT THE CHICAGO MICROCAR SHOW .

NOT A MICROCAR BUT I REALLY ENJOYED SEEING IT .

YES , IT WAS BLACK .

Back around 1994, there was an empty shell '51 Split window Bug for sale at the Bug Out. I crawled all over it - there was no rust even on the heater channels and floor pan. The price to replace all the parts alone back then would have been out of this world. It even came with Porsche 356 finned aluminum brake drums on all four sides.
