1971 BMW 2002 Verona

Recommended Posts

Last year I saved a 1971 Sahara 2002. It was rusty to say the least needing front fenders, doors, a spare tire well and other smaller patches. About $9000 dollars later the car will soon be refinished in Verona red with all rust issues properly addressed (with metal). I have also installed new brakes all the way around including calipers, pads, drums, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. Clutch master and slave are also new. New suspension components include ball joints, Bilstein struts and strut mounts. I also replaced the water pump, plugs, wires, cap and added electronic ignition. The body is not for the purist but tastefully modified. All reflectors and side markers are deleted. The front bumper has been replaced with a Kamei type air dam that is seamlessly molded to the front end for an incredibly clean look. The paint is of high show quality and currently being sanded and buffed. I have new gaskets for all windows, the trunk and doors along with a new headliner, carpet and very nice used Flofit fronts seats with matching rear bench. Trim items are not installed. Motor is stock except for the typical 32/36. I have to make a decision in the next couple weeks of whether I will complete this car or sell it as is. If there is any interest in a car of this description, please let me know via faq. I can email pictures upon request. Car is located in central NC.

Interesting ad.

Why not post pictures and an asking price? Is verona the original color or the color you decided to repaint the car? Can the new owner choose another color or is it too late? Almost sounds like an ad better suited for 02 general discussion rather than cars for sale.

Thanks for your reply. The car was originally Sahara as noted in the ad but the color has since been changed to Verona. I had full interntions of finishing it myself but in hindsight you are correct that offering the new owner a choice would have been a good idea. I tried to ad pics but the files were too large. I would be happy to email them. I would like to recover as much of my investment as possible but realize it would not be reasonable to expect the full amount.
