calling all turkis cars

would, could anyone and everyone who owns or has pictures of turkis o2's post pictures please...i'm planning the paint for my currently agave 73 and would like to see the different variations of turkis

i know there should be only one but look at inka and colorado, for example, varying shades of orange...some colors have simply evolved or degenerated since originally produced

They must be really rare because I was only able to find few pictures from net. I was looking for them for same purpose but decided to go for taiga. I'm sure you've found the same ones already.

Turkis looks very different in different light and it's hard to capture in photograph. Here's e9 from BMW Museum which looks all blue.

Anyway it's beautiful - go for it! I'm still not sure if made right decision.

Finding a turkis is original is like finding an arktisblau in original form. It's impossible.

Here is one from my small collection of photos, which (unfortunately) isn't mine. I also bought some #065 touch up paint (Ketone.com sells DuPont acrylic touch-up paint in spray cans) to spray some test panels. This matched original turkis body panels before paint was removed, seems very greenish in sunlight and fluorescent light, especially next to e.g. fjord.

Here's my tii, which is an original Turkis '74. It was repainted in 2000, using glasurit, the original brand used by BMW. I think it is pretty accurate but the color changes in terms of blue to green based on the light. So, it's very difficult to capture.

I just took a few shots with my phone.

There are places on my car in the engine bay where you can see the original factory paint and I think this current coat is pretty close. I do see some differences in the metal flake though as my touch up guy told me that modern metal flakes are quite different then the early 70's.

As others have mentioned turkis is a color that looks quite different depending on the lighting conditions.

thanks guys...i always see turkis as a darker color than it actually is...anywho, i believe i found some paint the other night

i forgot what auto maker takes credit but it's called Medium Malachite Metallic....looks pretty darn'd close to one of the pics you guys posted
