Did they paint 10 Malaga cars for every one

Huh, and here I thought that Riviera was a ubiquitous color! But I do remember looking at a LOT of Malaga cars when I was shopping for an '02 back in the 90s.

Malaga just seems like a very elegant color for these cars.

It's a great color for the Bavaria class, E-9 coupes, and NK's as well; used to be a beautiful malaga 3.0cs in our area and on a few NK sites there are some really nice looking 2000's in malaga. My 3 NK's were:

'68 2000ti Chamonix

'69 2000 Granada Red

My first 02 was an early 1969 1600 in it's original Sahara paint. Wouldn't be my first choice, but I grew to really like it. While I'll admit that the color doesn't look good on the later cars, I really think that Sahara compliments the stainless steel trim and chrome bumpers and hubcaps. That shade of tan, in my opinion, doesn't look good next to black grills or black rubbered big bumpers.

My son's first car was a ' 74 Malaga that had been painted some white when we bought it, but my ' 75 is Chamonix and my wife's ' 76 is Pastellblau.

Maybe the predominance of Agave cars in the Willamette Valley is because they're the same color as the Doug firs.
