Hey now -

I know y'all are some of the most "in the know" BMW afficianados out there, so i'm looking for opinions on this 1995 E34 Six speed

Thoughts? good, bad, ugly?

I needed a car, and a hobby....

Ya, think I'm going to pass on it. Carfax came back pretty ugly. Partly because of the motor swap, I suspect, but also showed that it was in an accident. Does look pretty beat, too. Would love that 6 speed, though. ;)

They are a fun car if you can find a decent example. I actually converted my (now sold) '94 540i to 6 speed manual. It would cruise at 100mph in 6th averaging about 26mpg. WAAY better than it ever did with the slushbox. It would surprise PLENTY of folks too in an impromptu drag race...of course it did that pretty well with the automatic also. Fun factor aside the V-8 engine is costly if you don't do your own repair and service work. I fix these vehicles for a living, so no big deal. I wouldn't want to be on the other side of the cash register.

Budweiser...It's not just for breakfast anymore.

+1.... and If maintained well they can last a LONG time, I have had customers with close to 300K on these V8s whether Nikasil or the replacement Alusil lined blocks....
