finally got mine(oem) working (issues with ignition switch) went to install everything and over tightened the lug X( solenoid housing broke. im located in chicago Illinois .

i have one boat anchor starter you can have for the cost of shipping.

hrmm. not familiar with the "boat anchor" motor. does it function properly and bolt up to the m10 block?

Due to the weight, the cost of shipping from Canada would probably be pretty expensive, but - if nothing else pans out - I've got a starter from a '76 530i/70,000 original miles. A direct bolt-in upgrade for a stock '02 starter.
