Transportation car

Hey folks,

Looking for a good transportation car (honda, toyota whatever) for my daughter's fiance for 2K or below. Only needs to drive it 10 or 15 miles a day to school. Preferably in Socal. Any leads would be appreciated.

'95 to '98 Nissan 200SX.

I had one and it was a great daily driver for years until some drunk asshat side swiped and totalled it. They are small, efficient, cheap to insure and awesome commuter cars. They can be had for around $1800 or less.

BMW 318 or 325i

Could easily find an E30 for that price range. If you find an 84 318i it has a fuel injected m10 so it is a familiar engine.

If that isn't your thing, any Honda with a 5 speed is going to be dead reliable no matter what model or year.

I we will probably go with a Honda as I don't want the pressure of working on two cars when little things go wrong (need to do the struts in my 02, still trying to figure if its something I can do). Thanks you for your replies.
