for real....you changed the flexplate....steve would love to know that was or was not the problem...that engine was pathetically dirty but it's only got about 500 miles on it and steve had the tranny rebuilt just before we moved from LA

New starter did the trick. We think it may be a C4 and not a C6. Gonna check more tomorrow. Flex plate is in great shape.

And if you want to get spendy for a really nifty console face try Parker Performance. I actually have a more simple Esty center console in my 72.
