Broke my only key. FML

A good locksmith will be able to make a key that works with the two pieces. I'd recommend a mobile one, so he can modify the key as necessary if it doesn't work the first time. I had a key snap in half about 6 years ago, the locksmith had me on my way within 10 minutes.

Coincidentally, this happened to me a few months ago. I had to take the driver's door lock-set to the locksmith so that he could make me a new key. The broken pieces of the original key were also twisted, so it was not possible to make a key from the broken key. They keys that he made me work very well.

"A good locksmith" is key, I visited 5 in my area and not one could copy a perfectly good key. I ended-up w/ 1 key that I've been filing to work as an emergency key. Cutting on both sides of the key seems to be difficult for today's "locksmiths".

A tow service person should be able to open the door in a jiffy, for you.

I agree with good locksmith and also suggest .... yes, the dealer should be able to cut key from VIN.

only if you’re sure that the ignition tumbler and both door handles are original to the car. There is a code stamped on each door handle but I suggest you check the other side also to verify if it’s a match. Remove the ignition tumbler by drilling out the roll pin found under the ignition housing. Have the locksmith make you one key for all.
