My TiTi wa sold to a very nice man that was in great need of a fine TiTi. After some cosmetic augmentation and a wee bit of resculpting it is now one of the finest TiTis in the US. To hide it's true beauty it masquerades as a a non TiTi.

But we know TiTi come in pairs and the other is now being lovingly reshaped into a fine example of a TiTi for the islands. When it is finished with its cosmetics and surgeries it will rejoin it's mate at the Vintage, I am quite sure.

The first Tii drivetrain was in the NK cars - 1969-1972

1,952 total production.

Touring Tii's numbered 5,783

Thanks Rob, I stand corrected. I didn't think about the NK's, just the 02's. I have read that BMW introduced the 02 Tii in the Touring first to emphasize the "Sport" aspect of the car over the utilitarian aspect.

According to info I have gathered (hope it's true):

Touring 2000tii production started Jan '71 alongwith the famous alloy wheels and other goodies.

The Euro 2002tii sedan started May '71 and the US 2002tii in Aug '71

The 1600 & 2000 Touring carb'd version started May '71.

The 1802 Touring started in Oct '71.

A little late to the Touring party.... I think they are fascinating. Too bad folks didn't appreciate their value when new. I applaud all the folks out there who have resurrected/saved the Tourings.
