Per the book "The Complete book of BMW" by Tony Lewin:

1602 Touring Production (launch date 4/71 pricing 11,320 DM):

1971: 1,998

1972: 2,341

1973: 40

The book does not list the rear differential ratio but most specs are the same as the 1802 Touring.

Hi Rob,

Not much info I'm afraid, but would expect the 1600 Touring to have the same drivetrain as the saloon. Diff, I believe, would be 4:11:1.

Da Beater is still going strong. Hopefully it will be "on show" again at Mid-America event in a couple of months.

Good to hear the beater is still doing well. I love my 318 i a beast cranks every time with 220k km does not but oil but I want a touring.I am bringing the Red Baron 74 with dual webers to South Dakota to start to get her on the road again . If I get this touring I will bring her back to the states the 318 will stay here . Love the M42 motor
