Im just checking in to make sure a 1985 e30 m10 starter is going to fit a 1975 m10. Should just be bolt on, right?

Do a quick FAQ search on M3 starter. The hot setup seems to be the one used on the big 6 (E28 535is for example) as it has 1.7 jigglywatts of power and mucho torque. I got one from an ebay seller in CA. New unit of unknown origins but it was about $85 with shipping and no core charge. so far it is an impressive paper weight, but others have installed with success.

the 75 calls for a SR71X and the 85 w/M10 calls for a SR40X Should interchange fine, if cheap, buy it.

I ordered my M3 starter from Eagle Electric on e-bay. No problems so far and it arrived within days. They seem to have a solid reputation. I just ordered the upgraded alternator from them and it came in two days.

The S14 starter is great, though you can find the slightly cheaper Bosch SR441X. It has 1.7 kW compared to the SR71X's 1.0 kW.
