F1 driver Robert Kubica in nasty rally crash

Man... the speed at which they drive in those tiny mountain roads. Amazing talent but definitely taking risks.

Yeah, I've been following this sad news....sounds like he is on the way to recovery, and very lucky it wasn't worse. But, time will tell how well all the reconstruction works for him....mentally, a crash like this may be very tough for him to get over and come back from. Hopefully, he'll recover fully and race in F1 asap.....probably the best medicene. I always pull for Robert, as he's an ex-BMW driver, and a damn good one to boot....he just hasn't been in the fastest cars. I was hoping this season would be his best, then this. As John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans." Heal quickly Robert!

I've also been following the news about Kubica - sounds like his injuries are VERY serious. First priority was to save his right hand from amputation (prognosis good) now its dealing with the severe injuries to his right arm and right (?) leg.

From what I've read - Kubica's recovery will take at least 1 year - several of the F1 sites are already wishing him luck to return to F1 in 2012.

I hope Kubica recovers enough to return to F1 - he's a great driver who is well liked by fans and fellow drivers.
