Announcing the official arrival of Pinchy!

I've finally got some pics of Pinchy (named after Homers pet lobstah) to show y'all.

The VIN is 2763484. There are a bunch of badges from O'Fests in the Ohio area and a National Chapter window sticker on her.

Someone has to know who had this car at some point in time.

Some surprises that came along with Pinchy; Schroth racing harnesses, a wood rail holding my drivers seat in, Perforated leather mid-section on my BMW Recaros and nicely coated whit BMW honeycomb wheels..

Im doing all the basics and will get the lights and blinkers working and hopefully have her on the road by Monday.

40 MPH winds and a sand storm from a nearby construction site are hampering my attempts at under the hood work today, but I will do my best.

I will also update the project blog at qstii.blogspot.com. Check there soon for more pics.

Enjoy the pics...

Congratulations.

The Deutsche Marques plaque is from a show in the Pittsburgh area BMW, Porsche & Mercedes clubs held it in Greensburgh, PA that year. I was at the show, yet do not specifically remember the car.

At the time I was very active in the Allegheny Chapter BMW CCA.

If the car was in the Pittsburgh area it may have been serviced by:

I met Sean today and "Pinchy" which is a very interesting tii.

Some highlights:

Plastic grills with H4 lights and center late kidney grill (but the nose has slots for 73 bumpers!)

Snorkle tube in nose

White 13" basketweave alloys

73 Front bumper

72 Rear bumper (no license plate lights)

No rear quarter panel lights

No rear reflectors

Bolt-in fuel pickup on the gas tank

No expansion tank in trunk

Replacement electric fuel pump under car (Bosch 5-series type)

Larger canister fuel filter in LF headlight area

E21 Recaros (great shape)

Harnesses with leads to rear parcel shelf

Neat window stickers

Neat Oktoberfest dash plaques

Wood shift knob

Pioneer cassette deck with rear three-way speakers

"Lux" type door panels with map pockets and wood trim

Pinchy needs a bit of body work but Sean is excited (so are his neighbors!). I'm glad to meet another tii owner nearby.

Pictures I took will follow..

Hard to believe, but Sean's car is not listed in the 2002 registry.

It was for sale in the Roundel Apr '86 in Voorheesville, NY (5k on rblt mtr)

Ebay Oct '10 in Starksboro, VT and lastly, Ebay Jan '11 in Wenham, MA.

Les - I still don't know how you keep up with these things. Do you have a spreadsheet on a laptop for your travels? When did you start recording this info?

Per Sean, it did come from MA.

Jim,

It's a hobby!

I started with the old Rob Torres' Register about 9-10 yrs ago, when it sorta kinda got abandoned and before Keith K restarted it, thinking it should not go to waste.

I've just kept adding to it over the years with info from anywhere I could find.I have a stack of old Roundels and info from the "for sale" pages have been entered. I need to get hold of some Roundels from the 70s (mine start around '82).

Sean - sorry for a partial thread hijack ;-).

Les - I have inherited a box of '70's Roundels from Bill Riblett. Unfortunately, most of the cars in the For Sale section do not include the VIN's.

I got the car from ebay in MA. The title was from PA under the name Robert Haller in Camp Hill, PA.

The guy who I bought it from got the car at an auto auction in Dec, 2010.

This is what I love about these cars! After I got rid of my first 02 in the 90's a guy sent me a letter saying that the car was still registered in my name after passing through 3 sets of hands. He also sent some pics; the car had gone from a lovely Sahara to electric purple?!

It was fun to hear back from my car and see that a lot of the work I did was still there.

I will email Andreas and get some more info. Hopefully this will answer some of the odd body bits questions.
