I got another one....*sigh*

I've just been given this orphan. It hasn't moved in 15 years...but it deserves love.

Not sure what direction I'll take it yet. 'Haven't even gotten it to the shop yet either. I just want a fun, quick, safe weekend driver...I have NO interest in conventional cosmetic improvements. Early VIN, plastic runners....and complete.

I have just been handed the keys....to oblivion. This makes #13 for me I think....my 3rd tii.

I obviously have a very large problem. *grin*

Oh...if it only needed cutting and welding, I'd be all SET! *laughing!*

It's gonna need *everything*. Already pricing engine components for a rebuild.

When you gonna come visit us, Bill? I'd love to take ya' out to lunch at the Log Cabin Inn up the road! (GREAT burgers!)

Great find. Love the early Tii's. Do you know for a fact the engine needs rebuilding? Mine sat in garage since 1990 because of a fault with the kugel pump mis-diagnosed as many other things. The actual engine was still sweet as a nut when I fired her up.

Good luck.

You're right Nick....it might *not* need a rebuild, but I'm afraid to even turn the crankshaft until I pull the head and look at the cylinders. Half those valve springs have been compressed for 15 years.....so I'd want to at LEAST go through the valvetrain, replace valve seals, etc. Maybe timing chain rails....you know how it goes, right?

Jonathan....yeah....I can't help myself. I want a car that looks like this tii, but with Emily's motor under the hood.

Delia saw the photos and summed it up best: "Saying you want this car is like admitting you like rough sex". I sense a personalized license plate in this car's future that reads "RUF SEX" ***LAUGHING MY ARSE OFF!***

This will be a long term project for me. And it might drive me bat-shit crazy.

id say just bring it back to life and drive the hell out of it. no need to make a show room car.

I brought that one back to life 100% top notch. Total satisfaction and it didnt costed me 10k.
