Refurbishing Shift Knobs

you can get the wood all shiny and such but i'm afraid you're SOL on the BMW emblem as it is fused glass with brass highlights. i can't spell the technique properly but it's call clossenei or some such...

i've got one of those knobs too :-(

I know the wood won't be a huge problem but that emblem sure is going to be difficult to fix. It just adds patina!

Could shop for a wheel sticker the same diameter as the old roundel. Finish the wood with Tung Oil, I prefer Original Waterlox, good color and durability. Could add the sticker and coat the top with a thick epoxy to protect the roundel and smooth the transition, sand smooth and coat the whole knob in finish.
