Of course Jim, can't have beer without a restroom ;-)

To clear things up, it was the BMW CCA who made this possible, not BMW CCA Foundation.

Thanks for the clarification Scott. Are they providing you with some magnetic Spaten signs for your car?

What's up for next year - maybe a parade??

They better bring a big tent!

Die Weinlese wird der Himmel auf Erden sein!! Himmel der Bayern!!! Ya, ya!!!

No other brewery is as conspicuous on the fairgrounds as Spaten. Fresh, sparkling Spaten beer flows on tap in three large beer tents and one smaller one - a taste sensation, accompanied by jaunty music and culinary treats: Schottenhamel, Ochsenbraterei, Hippodrome, and Glöckle Wirt.

Schottenhamel Beer Tent

The Schottenhamel beer tent is the 'in' tent par excellence - always full, always lively. This is where the Lord Mayor of Munich taps the first keg of festival beer - Spaten, of course. After that, there's no end to the fun.

Festival innkeepers: Peter and Christian Schottenhamel

Total seating capacity: 10,000 (tent and garden)

Music: Otto Schwarzfischer

Ochsenbraterei

Here entire steers are turned on a spit. About 100 are devoured each year, to the accompaniment of brass bands, plenty of good cheer - and, of course, Spaten, one litre tankard after another. This beer tent has been in existence since 1867. It is heaven on earth for a true Municher and a byword in festival cheer for visitors from all over the world. Special feature: many seats in the beer garden for sunny afternoons, and entertainment from morning until deep in the night.

Festival innkeepers: Anneliese and Hermann Haberl

Total seating capacity: approx. 7,500 (tent and garden).

Music: Bruno Gress, marimba band, senior citizens' band from Chinese Tower, the Rossbachtaler.

Hippodrome

The smallest beer tent, but uncommonly popular. Innkeeper Sepp Krätz offers a skilful and stylish mixture of hearty Bavarian tradition and international flair. Here you will meet a high-class clientele with the occasional celebrity from the worlds of film, radio and business. Special feature: a cosy bar in the mezzanine and special offers for supper.

Festival innkeepers: Sepp and Gabi Krätz

Total seating capacity: 4,000 (3,000 in tent, 1,000 in garden)

Music: Münchner Zwietracht, Bayerische 7, Jamei.

Glöckle Wirt

The Glöckle Wirt is the smallest of all the tents. Here the fun never stops! Horst Hermann, a Bavarian comedian and one-man band familiar from TV and radio, keeps spirits soaring with non-stop music and jokes. Anyone with time for an in-between snack will forget his or her favourite five-star restaurant - but will certainly remember to order a Spaten. Special feature: high-spirited celebrities at the neighbouring table.

Festival innkeeper: Hanns-Werner Glöckle

Music: Horst Hermann
