That's a non-tii VIN.

US tii VINS

Round tail 2760001-2764521 for model 71 cars

Square tail 2780001-2782928 for model 73 cars

US spec automatic VINS 1/72-8/73

Round tail 2532126-2534861 for model 71 cars

The car began life as an automatic.

The automatic ia still in it with a tii motor and suspension.

Did not mean to mislead you with the VIN table. Simply point out the car was originally a regular 2002 with an automatic tranny.

BMW did NOT make an automatic tii.

Automatics are good candidates for 5-speed conversions due to the larger transmission well.

The BMW 2002 Automatic US VIN 2533532 was manufactured on December 5th, 1972 and delivered on December 8th, 1972 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Chamonix, paint code 085.
