Anyone have the backstory on the revised publication date for this new book: The Restorer's Reference BMW 2002 1968-1976

Per Amazon, it was initially scheduled for release in January 2011 then February, and now it says Feb 15, 2012! I pre-ordered and paid for this book in June 2010. What's the deal?

At least that is what I was told by James when we communicated a few months ago.

James and Peter flew over here in Dec 09 to NC to photograph US spec cars for the details unique to cars that were sold over here. Both James and Peter are fantastic folks, we had a really good time with them, even took them on the 02 Group Christmas Tree run that year. Peter is a noted automotive photographer and travels around the world to shoot cars. James on left Peter on right in the below photo

Here are some pictures of the photo shoot here at the house and at the house of Bob V in Hickory. Cars in the shoot here in NC were Aubrey H, Agave Tii, John L, Mint Grun, Linda C, Malaga Tii, Bob V, 1600 Cab, Sam A, Chamonix, and Steve G, Inka Tii. Bob's car was included since it is such and awesome example of a 1600 Cab and James had a tough time finding good ones to use in the book

James also asked a lot of questions about items that were unique to US 02s. A couple of noted FAQ members were very instrumental in answering some of those obscure detail issues, Tom J and Mike S.

Last communication from James was that he thought it would be early 2012 for the publication of the book.

Same I heard from James last time I emailed with him last September. Something about the publisher wanting to do a co-edition with a German publisher and the German company being wishy-washy. He expects an early 2012 release.

Here's the old thread on the book....
