1976 Malaga 2002 in Los Angeles ($2,700)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Posting this for a friend I am assisting in selling this 2002. He inherited it from his deceased grandfather and is not into '02s nor knows anything about them.

I know '76 is not the best year for Californians but the car does have some nice features. I have posted over 50 pictures of it, I took a few days ago. Car is in Fullerton right off I-5/39.

Car is a 4spd with sunroof and factory air. Can't tell if the air works as the belt is not on the car. All the other hardware seems to be present on the car. Has a set of black Recaros (driver side, needs recovering). Very presentable black door panels (uncut) front and rear. Back seat is also presentable with no tears although most of the hair stuffing has fallen out and on the floor beneath the seat. Floor pan under rear seat is solid. Rest of floor pan and fender wells look sound. Car only has 1-2 rust affected areas.

Sunroof opens and closes fine.

Car has a nice set of 13" period BBS basketweaves and Ansa rear muffler. Motor seems stock with the exception of Weber 32/26 and header.

Paint is a very presentable strong 6.5 on a 1-10 scale and with a buffing would come up nice. Car was not washed prior to taking pictures, so blemishes in pictures are not in paint but dirt on car.

Car starts and runs (sounds good) although it needs tuning (does not accelerate strong). Don't see any smoke at idle or when gunning it .

The observed negatives:

1. about a 12" hole in driver side front floor pan

2. spare tire well has some rusted through spots (not much though, mostly surface rust in it)

3. small rusted section in very front area of one of the rockers (about 2")

4. clutch is funky, may need bleeding. I was able to go up and down the street in all the gears

5. salvage title

Please call to discuss or ask additional questions, prefer phone over e-mail as I am away from my PC quite a bit. I am a night owl, so no call is too late. Thanks
