Who Has 1972 Tii Vin 2762043 ?

Recommended Posts

That is my old Tii that I owned from 1989 to 1993. I drove it accross the country and back. Have many stories about that car. It was Chamonix

I was at my Mom's house today and I found the Vin # in her files.

I sold it to a guy in Davis and not sure where it ended up after that.

Hopefully someone here on the FAQ has it. Did not see it in the Tii registry. But I may not have looked in the right place.

Bill - I was thinking Les might have some info. Cool to fill in the blanks for someone.

Lots of memories in that car, I need to scan the picture of it when I moved to Knoxville Tn in 1990. It was full to the headliner with my possesions and had 3 bikes on the back.

Matt- they were relatively close in #'s- I will e mail Andreas to get the build dates.

I also got the vin of my first BMW. A 1602 that I bought in 1983. It was a Manilla 69 - Vin 1563058. Drove that one accross the U.S also in 89. Unfortunatly I was rear ended by a dump truck in 1990. It still ran fine but was crushed in real bad. parted and eventually crushed. Wish I still had the 2 litre Dave Cruze engine that I sold out of it.

Those 2 BMWs were my daily drivers for 10 years. I put about 250k on the 2 during that 10 years.

Sorry, no info on 2762043. 2762044 & 45 but not 43.

If it ever pops up I'll be sure to let you know.

2762229 is in the Official Registry as being alive in CA.

CD, you really have to stop posting that picture, at least less often. Not the best image to look at first thing in the morning.

Thanks for the info Les. I will ask Stuart Krum who worked on it for years if he knew where it ended up.
