What do you think about this "Tangerine" color 200

Recommended Posts

The fact that he does not know the color name scares me a bit.

But it is near so that I can go and check it out.

Ripped front seat stands out in the photos

Good teaser pics... need more input. 15K is the high end for a carbed car, it better be that clean down under, and original paint.

Looks like a respray - '73s should have had black rockers, correct?

I think I see some rust bubbles behind the driver's rear wheel. And the carpet inside is not very clean. The door rubber looks kinda tired, too.

But the teaser pics do look reasonably promising. That price seems pretty high, but straight cars go for more on the east coast than they do on this side of the swelling Mississippi. And "Tangerine" does have a premium of its own.

Drove it last summer, but price too high IMO. As I recall, there are a few rust bubbles and one small dent. Car was reprayed ~10 years ago. It was owned by a Goldman Sachs investment banker. He drove it from Denville NJ to his place in the Hamptons in the summer. I think he was the second owner and acquired the car in the mid 1970's. Overall a nice car in need of a tune (last year) and new tires.

looks like a reasonable car but a bit overpriced. The rear seat bottom appears to be in need of restuffing - you can see the gap between the bottom seat and the back cushion - but that's only an educated guess.

I agree on the price being too high for a non-Tii.

But any decent car is like hens teeth around here.

I have an email request to seller for more information.

Anybody know any good shops in the Northwest NJ area??(near Sparta)

Probably a respray, true, but the rockers on a '73 are body color from the factory.

I will see this car this weekend.

Talk to the father of the owner

The only thing he said was that he thinks there might be need to replace the oil seals. They have never been done.

I think I know enough to get by on the first look. I will try to take photos of the usual suspect areas and post back.

Wish me luck!

I just saw the car today.

Good:

Strong engine

Paint job looks great to my eyes

No real strucural rust

Matching vin numbers

unmolested

Bad:

Tired interior

driver seat torn

back shelf holes for speakers

rot holes in trunk, especially around tank

Needs $$$ to get it back on "BMW STRASSE"!

Price should be more in the $5-$8,000 range then you can do some thing with it.

Owner out of town so there was no negotiations

(I have a few pictures if interested)
