Page # 53 in the Want Ads of the February 1979 Roundel:

"1972 2002tii. This vehicle is North American specification tii number one. Driven summers, stored winters - perfect condition. White w/blue cloth interior, Koni shocks, Borrani wheels (original wheels and wheel covers were kept). If interested in owning and maintaining this vehicle in line with its historic value, call Peter Hutchins days at 313-xxx-xxxx."

I omitted the phone number as I'm sure it isn't any good and there might be someone angry answering calls about an old car for sale!

was in the Bay area or LA, but it's been mentioned on the FAQ some years ago.

2762630 (the first '73) is here in Dayton.

Yup, that car is "ol 177" and here is it's story of it being the first Tii that came to the US for EPA testing # 2700177.... It is a euro market car that was updated with US market parts and sent here for testing.

The first "production" US market 2002Tii 2760001 is Inka orange and has lived in Sacramento CA for around 20 years now. It's been in dry storage for over 15 years in Glasurit Inka with it's original engine rebuilt waiting on a stand. The car is awaiting finish work after the body/paint/engine was redone for a second time. A very reputable shop near San Diego did some poor restoration work on it in the early '90s that had to be all redone. Court battles ensued... long bad story. There are currently still grille fitment issues where the nose and or front fenders will have to be repositioned and resprayed. I know the owner well and for the right price the car is available.

Here's a picture of it from before it was "restored" by said shop.

As many of you know I grew up with another very early US Tii as the family car. My parent's bought 2760007 new and still own it.... I have also had the honor of working on #'s 11, 18, and 48 in my years as a mechanic. If anyone gets their hands on 0001 or any other very early Tii and wants a nut-n-bolt hose clamp restoration with correct details that very very few people know about, I'd be honored to do so.
