Nice Fifties Chevy. This was on the route between the State Park and the Westbend Winery. Mike Self is in my rear view mirror...

This sweet-looking E36 318ti was one of two I saw on this trip. This one was on the left-side of the road during the Rally/Tour route.

Lastly, is this really a Vespa 400?

My "out of window" pics stink - always blurry or out-of-focus. Mike Pugh seems to have mastered this trick.

The Canon Powershot fits nicely in the dash between the clock and 1st rib. That spot is also very handy for the iPhone.

I missed the 2nd 318ti (blue one on the right-hand side of 158 East) along with several rusty old American cars, the two trucks on the flat bed and at least two VW Beetles. Always looking for another tii ;-).

IT's HARD TO TELL FOR SURE , KIND OF LIKE COUNTING CHILDREN ON A PLAYGROUND .

There was a small cruise-in show Saturday in the lot near the Hilton we stayed...

I ran out a bit late. Mostly 'murrican iron, some muscle cars etc...

That's pretty cool. Not only the pictures, but the RPM's you are running at 55! You must be loving the 5 speed.

That needs to be the next thing I do to the 2002.

At 70mph in 5th, the engine is turning right at 3,000 RPM. The swap was definitely worth the installation cost and labor. Now that the ignition and fuel systems are working in harmony, my best gas mileage for the trip was 29.58 MPG (slightly LOWER than Marshall's M2 which has the same 5-speed but he has a 3.91:1 LSD and 15" wheels/tires). Other than the regular highway periods, we were not babying the cars on our drives. Massive fun.

I believe it's lower than Marshall's M2. I have an E21 3.91:1 LSD in my car. It really gets wound up at highway speed. I think at 55 in 4th, I'm easily turning 3 - 3500.

Very nice. Just be careful with the camera while driving.

LOL! i really do have a german econobox! i got better gas mileage than a tii! not to rub it in, but i got 31mpg on the way home with minor tune change. more to go.

70mph via gps showed 3250 rpm on the AN computer's crank sensor input. e21 5spd and aarvark 3 clutch 3.91 diff. 15x7's with 195/50's.

of course, the money saved on gas will have to go for hearing aids in a few years of driving this car....
