Bavauto.com has two OE 13 x 5.5 wheels for sale on their website. One steel, the other an alloy (Style . Sales rep says the ET is 18 for both. Does that seem correct? an 11 mm difference in off set between a 5 and 5.5 inch wheel?

No ET18 is the standard offset for E21 (320i) wheels. Not the ideal offset for a 2002.

The 5"x13" ti/tii steel wheels have an offset that's different from the 4.5"x13" wheels. As I recall they are 26mm.... and work great on all 2002s. Their shape is different from the '74-'76 5" wide wheels and can be used over the Girling/Volvo calipers without too much effort. In my case, I'm using a very thin spacer behind the ti/tii steel wheels.

Yokohama T-4 in size 185/70-13 (on the car now). The tires pictured were sold to Andew in TX and are Pirelli P400 in size 185/70-13.

Thanks for the tip. I was concerned about excessive wear on wheel bearings with those E21 wheels from bavauto with an ET of 18.

Is that the issue or potential rubbing on the fender with 185/70s?

I am looking at minilites from England and they can make the 13x5.5 with any offset I want. They make their 13x6s at 25mm offset.
