FOR SALE

1984 300DT

184,000 miles

SOLD - SAD DAY

gave it to Park City Ford Bridgeport dealer, when I took

delivery of my new 2011 FORD Transit Connect,

to sell for whatever $$$ they cound find - sad - but no room

indoors for me to keep it, and too little time, energy, money

to continue in it's constant cosmetic upkeep. RAN like a train though.

The mechanicals were 100%

so you might see it roaming the hills of Connecticut in the future.......

Sorry - I couldn't resist.

The car must be a 1984- not from 1884. I fondly recall the left-side dash "pull to start" knob on the older M-B diesels. Kind of ironic that many newer cars have "push to start" buttons on the left side of the dash.

My uncle had a new 1984? Metallic red/tan 300D sedan with 5-speed. Painfully slow but bulletproof.

Interested in another M-B? This is one of my favorite "big body" Mercedes.

That's a W116 S-class like my '80 300SD Turbo Diesel. It is a great car.

My neighbors once had a pair of M-B's like yours:

Green/tan '79 300SD Turbo diesel

Silver/blue '80? 300SE? Gas engine

Both rode and drove like new cars when they were over 15 years old.

Interesting change - MB diesel to "high box" Ford. Are you going into the mobile mechanic business - or mobile detailing- or selling 2002 Parts at shows (instead of Carlisle)?
