tires and wheels SCORE!

I picked up a set of Mahle 13 inch late-style alloy wheels. (soupdish) A certain friend and fellow '02'er helped me out! YAY.

I am not sure if I need special lugnuts for the Mahles. Will standard lugnuts from the 13 inch steelies work on them? TIA.

Jim, you'll need the lug nuts for 2002s (and other model BMWs) with alloys. The lug nuts have a wider bevel/surface area where they contact the aluminum wheel. You should be able to get the part number with a search here, since this was recently mentioned. Good for you; awesome wheels!

That's great you ended up with them! I got my alloy lugs from Blunt, but I forgot you have those gift certs.

What kind of shape are the wheels in? Do you need different tires now, too?

Scott: the tires I have now (13 inch Avid T4) will fit just fine. The wheels need some refurbishment. I need ideas on that. I was thinking of having them blasted and repainted....
