Hey Chris,

Try 2761758. As I said on the TX board, 2761785 is for sale in Houston currently.

The VIN would seem to indicate that it's mfg. took place right around the Aug. break for the factory's one-month summer vacation. They may have been out of the snorkel-less front ends and but on a regular one.

There have been several cases over the years on here documenting original tiis with a snorkel. Not common - but they do exist. Then there is always the case of front ends being replaced with regular ones with a snorkel.

did all the tii's have that ring around the upper strut mounts?

No, all us 2002's had em on top of the strut and under the body. Many people take them off and put them on top like this to get the proper ride height and take up the extra length of strut mount bolts.

I remember a Ceylon roundie tii sitting intact in a junkyard just south of OKC back in 1990 or so...Always wondered what happened to it as it was one about year later when I was back to the yard.

Ceylon 02s are pretty rare, and Ceylon tiis even more so.

Great find.

Thanks John, so did i get that right, US 2002's had those to give them a higher ride height?

Now that you mention it, i *did* see some 2002 with real long strut mount bolts standing out.

If you think Ceylon 02s are rare, try an E3 Bavaria.

Here is a pic of my former 73 Ceylon Bav that I picked up for $400 complete with Alpina wheels, 3.3L and converted to EFI.

Euro '02s had them too, and the E3 & E9 models.

There were two thicknesses, 20 & 12mm. I think the 20mm were just for the US cars.
