What is the story with this car?

It was from Washington and is now in Vallejo, CA on some whonky auction site.

The (now ex) owner is from WA. It was his son's car, and his son was in school in CA when it was hit.

And Copart isn't wonky. It's the leading insurance salvage auction company in the country.

i thought the bidding was supposed to end on the 23rd ?
