Claying your car....

Hey, it's *magic* clay, want some?

Obviously, I wasn't referring to swirlmarks in the paint - clay cleans the paint finish os very small particulates, it's not a paint scratch remover. After a couple of years of driving in this dusty environment, with my typical rinsing and re-waxing, I end up with a fair amount of small swirls and streaks in the wax built-up (especially along the lower sides) that my more thorough washing, cleaning, claying and repolishing eliminates. It must work OK, I'll get compliments on my paint when folks find out it's that old.

So it's not the clay - it's the super special rags you gotta try! ;-)

Many years ago I was a professional detailer.

Pretty much any of the clays you can buy are great and they will remove oxidation without removing the clear coat (unlike a polish).

The best technique is to use tons of the spray and NOT APPLY PRESSURE to the clay. Just like it glide over the top.
