Thanks URO, even your trunk seal is wrong !!

just figured out why all i was leaving in the trunk collected a nice exhaust taste on my 74'...

I asked my friend to lock me in the trunk to see what was going on, and realised that i saw light almost all around near the latch...even with the bump stop removed and the latch fully in, it doesnt touch it everywhere. After comparision with my 76 and his oem old torn out seal, the lip is almost horizontal on the URO while the oem is angled upward to reach the trunk lip...and we actualy PAY for that crap, nice.

the material seems very similar, the profile is wrong. The lip must go upward otherwise if get at the same height as the metal lip under it so it mecomes very hard if not possible at all to reach the rubber without adjusting the trunk real tight, too much to the point it needs to be slamed fucking hard to close. i think i will put some closed cell two way foam tape on the lid, 1/8 of it should do it...for now...

URO makes junk. You're not the only one to find out the hard way.

No amount of skill or education will ever replace dumb luck

Does a Trunk Seal prevent the exhaust smell from getting into the car?

sure ! the back draft makes some fumes sucked back into the car, at least on mine for sure.

Most URO seals are crap.

The only thing URO that was ever OK - I bought two plugs for the jack holes for my 911. Those were fine.

All seals though from URO are crap - be it Porsche or BMW. Complete SH*T.

I found out the hard way using a URO front windshield seal. Didn't fit in the corners correctly and my windshield wipers would bump against the seal. "Luckily" about a month after installing the windshield with the URO seal, a rock kicked up on the freeway and cracked my front windshield, so I installed the correct BMW seal along with a new windshield. Perfect fit.

Just say NO to URO!
