Has anyone used the Walloth glass set?

My old glass is scratched, pitted and cloudy. It's time for new glass.

Walloth and Nesh sell a complete glass set that comes in for $400 euros ($575). They can ship it for another $150euros.

I did a comparison to the dealer glass. It would be right around $1000US for all the glass.

Has anyone tried the Walloth glass? Is it worth shipping over?

available from BMW, but it's worth a try.

Steve Peterson (Blunt) could tell you in a trice.

The factory didn't start fitting tinted glass to US models until sometime in 1971, possibly with the changeover to the "modell 71" trim at VIN 2570001.

Nothing against W & N and other favoured suppliers, but as it's glass I would check your local dealer. No shipping charges and your sure it's crack free when you pick it up. If you're a BMW CC member you could get 10 to 15% off too.

i have heard nothing bad about the W&N glass, people seldom say anything when something's god, only when it's bad, so i suppose this means it's good ;)

But i somehow can't can't cotton up with the thought of having glass shipped from germany to the united states when there's glass availible inside the united states.

Unless it's really as cheap as you say.

There is no issue with availability of stock glass on standard cars. They list both Green and clear for 68-77. I know it technically wasn't available before a certain date in green. My car came with clear.

The odd thing to me is there is a break for cars made before 8/68. My car was made 10/67 so it falls into that category.

I had a break in and replaced a vent window many years ago. I replaced with a junk yard part. I didn't notice any issues.

Hey Chris,

These guys are usually competitive and can sometime be negotiated with (if you tell them you have a better deal but would prefer to buy locally). They got me the rain gutter trim for my car which is over sized and sent it across town to me for $8 (vs the $40 oversize shipping charges people were quoting me). They are in Glendale and you can pick your stuff up if you'd prefer.
