Surfing for an 02 today I found a 1974 Alpina for sale. It is listed on two websites at two different prices. Same exact car same pictures.

Classic cars UK lists it for 49k

2002 AD lists it for 74k

What gives?

How can the car physically exist in two places?

2002AD often advertise cars (on consignment?) for the Owners. Several of the Turbos on 2002AD over the past few years have actually been in Japan.

That '74 Alpina is in the UK.

Looks like being this one:

And IMHO price on the UK site might be somewhere near to appropriate considering uniqueness and obviously great conditions. US price is far from worth a discussion. But as always: Market decides - you only gotta find a buyer to pay.

This one gets around, but, without actually going anywhere.

It was for sale May '09 for £40,000 (yes GB£), the classiccarsforsale.co.uk ad uses the same pictures from 2009, so I suspect it is the same Owner.

It was for sale at Munich Legends, Sussex, in July this year, but I guess it was on consignment.

I guess it may now sell for the noted £29,995.

Yes, as others here have pointed out, this car is physically in the UK, but its owner has asked us to market it for him in the US. The price we have for it, which is in $, was set when he asked us to help sell the car, which was a while ago. We have no control over its price in the UK, before or currently.

Regards,

2002AD
