Qyestions...what would you pay for a 2002Turbo?

ME?

Not very much. I don't like collector cars. I find the BJ syndrome

(yes, I think Barrett Jackson and Blowjob are pretty synonymous)

rather disgusting.

I DO like pretty older cars, though. Just not enough to pay house money for them.

I'd buy a nice ($4-6k) car that wasn't very original, but nice,

ideally with a blown motor and gorgeous paint and shiny stuff

and then put a more modern turbo system into it.

And I'd keep it as stealthy as I could while still getting the

exhaust out and the power down.

But that's ME, and you asked what I'D pay for a turbo.

(probably not much help, I'll readily admit. But it's my perspective on the whole thing.

The 2002 turbo was interesting as a project, but not very drivable as a car.

At least, not in any way that couldn't be called 'hooligan'!)

I'm with you. I like driving 2002s. With a turbo, I would constantly be worried about harming the value of it.

Quite a bit of the information on that link is incorrect. For one, the Turbos had the same size 250mm rear drums as the E21 cars.

If you are serious about buying said car I wholly recommend you chat with Sean Casey for correct information on 2002Turbos in general and to see if he has information on that VIN in the US registry! He may well be the ultimate 2002Turbo Guru. Use the Casey MotorSports link in my sig. to contact Sean.

US 2002 Turbo Register listed under Vintage and Classic...

Another 2002Turbo authority is Byron Sanborn (Preyupy) here on the FAQ.

Sunroof 2002Turbos do exist but are rather rare!

Cheers and HTH!
