Interesting. Thanks for replying! Anyone else with an early Model 71?

a) Short vs. long console

B) Silver dollar vs. black gauges

c) Short vs. long bumpers

d)

e)

Are you looking for a list of changes?

d)6v to 12v

e)clear to light green tinted glass?(the 70 parts car I bought had clear glass)

f)shallow grills vs "deeper" roundie grills

g)red center tail vs amber

Not true with the grilles. Only late 1972 and all 1973 02s had the shallow grilles, all other model years had the deep versions, including those cars with the silver faced gauges.

So Jim, you need Silver Dollar gauges with a 220kph speedo in a black cluster with a fuel level warning light, and a three tab fuel level sender to go with it.... for your Ti conversion. ;)

Yes Tom - I'm looking at a 167xxxx car that does not have the silver dollar cluster. I would eventually like to find the "correct" one for my ti project. I'm not really concerned about the console - especially since I already have a new long one from BLUNT in my stash.

I also understand the ti clock is uber-rare. I'll most likely use one from a 72/73tii.

Went to look at the '71 today - here is the cluster.

Dash was really nice! Too bad the lower body sections were toast. Looks are deceiving - especially in a for sale ad. The search continues.

This car was advertised as being "tan". It is actually Nevada. Build date per BMW was December 7, 1970.

I want to hear more about retrieving the build sheet...Alpinaguy...do you have a link to the information?

Here is the one that came with my car. Just a fancier way to express the e-mailed information.
