XL frame isn't a weight excuse, frame weight between small and XL is a few ounces;)

That is really light, my steel SS rigid 29er is 24.2lbs, and it's at the point where another two or three pounds would probably make the bike ride worse on anything but smooth trail.

I'm waiting for the pinion p18 gearbox to come out, put that in a carbon frame 29er with a 142x12 through axle, qr15 100mm fox talas, and a King/Edge(CF rim) wheelset would be the ultimate XC bike. It would add some weight to the overall package, about 1-1.5lbs, but it's in the best possible position.

I9 hubs are awesome, I wish I still worked in a bike shop so I could afford a pair.
