I put some fresh tires on my TI/SA wheels because nothing is better than new tires and wheels! I temporarily stuck some 14" NK hubcaps on the wheels just to see what it looks like, and it looks really cool, like super deep dish steelies.

Your car looks absolutely spectacular! kudos to you for keeping it an original colour. So many of those non traditional colours go away over the years, so it's nice to see one restored like that. The tisa wheels with hubcaps look SOOO cool!! what an awesome look. Great great project.

I'm totally impressed with your wheels and tires and the small hubcaps and it takes a lot to impress this 74 year old bimmer lover. You really nailed it, my hat goes off to you. I have one question, how wide are the 14" TISHA wheels? Thanks and good luck to you and your 02.

Tiitouring02,

Thanks! I couldn't imagine painting my car anything other than its original color, pastellblau is so beautiful when fresh. According to the color charts pastellblau is a "common" color, but it seems like it is getting more and more rare by the day.

As for the wheels, I'm just as impressed as you are! They turned out so great and I couldn't be happier! They suit the car surprisingly well, and are obviously a very unique choice for an 02 (I've never seen them on a 2002).

Bimmerbill,

Thanks for the compliments! I'm glad I could impress you. The wheel choice isn't for everyone, but when you understand it, you really like it (I sure love it)! It's a nice change from the typical 15x7 BBS wheels, and it doesn't veer off from the simple steel wheel BMW roots.

Mike B is correct, they are 14x6 with an offset of about 15.

That looks great with those wheels - I love it. Did you do the interior? I seem to vaguely remember a car for sale with an interior like that when I was looking. Maybe it was your car?

I bought the car that way, it might've been my car that you saw on Craigslist (before I bought it).

I'm actually looking at a pastellblau 76 down the street to buy. It has a recently restored tan interior and it's beautiful, but otherwise is a basic stock 02. There might be a possible interior swap in the near future!

I'm also restoring a 390mm wood Nardi wheel in my spare time :)

It's been a while since I've updated my blog, so here's a post with some of the things I've done in the last few months.

Mounted up the Enkei Apache V and ran them for a little while.

Then I bought a set of authentic ALPINA rims from an e21 and test fit them; just lovely! 15x6 and 15x7 staggered. They need paint and new tires before I run them.

I recently sold the Enkeis and the ALPINAs need paint, so it's back to the Ti/SA steel wheels for a while.

And now I'm ready to install these NOS Hella 160 foglamps, but first I had to tint them yellow.
