Is this a good deal on Dual 45 Webers?

That kit is from Redline. You can buy from them directly but there are a couple of people that sell Redline kits like Top End Performance (www.racetep.com), Jam Engineering, they will match your best price (http://www.jameng.com/products/index.phtml?section=2). And Redline themselves, www.redlineweber.com/html/application_guide/BMW.htm You will probably be able to get it cheaper from them.

There is also a guy selling Italian 45 dcoe's with linkages and manifold for $700 in the for sale section. Italian dcoe's were better built than the later Spanish ones. I would buy that, put in a new carb kit and then you have a better setup for less.

My engine has 90mm pistons, slightly ported head with 284 Schrick cam, tii dizzy. I have the tii injection, but since my car is non tii I'm planning on converting to dual carbs. Will this setup work with a 45 dcoe dual carbs? What size jets will work?

I appreciate all the responses. Thank you in advance.

Dual 40's will be much better for your application. They will have better response at lower rpm's that chocked down 45's. Unless you plan on getting a cam >300' and 10:1 pistons soon I would say stay with 40mm.

Its hard to say what to use for jets, best way is to find someone with a similar engine and carbs and work from there, although it will still not be spot on but closer than guessing.

Dual 45's are for big cams that need to rev high, not a 284, or even 292.

I have a nice set of mikuni 44s with the linkage and manifolds for $650. They were set up on a 2002.

Why must this be soooo tempting! In my opinion Mikuni's are a nicer carb since they dont need as much fiddling. I would love to run a set on my 02!
