2002ti distributor

Hey,

I am looking for a 2002ti dizzy, but before I post in the Wanted section, I wanted to get my facts straight.

It seems like the Bosch 0 231 129 033 is the right part for a '70 ti. Is this true?

I have also read that it could be the 0 231 129 037 dizzy that is the right one.

Could someone please clarify this for me.

Regards

Jacques,

Did you find those numbers after entering your VIN in the REAL OEM parts search?

I stumbled across the attached distributor information a while back.

It even shows the advance curves.

For the 2002ti:

0 231 151 008 JFR4

Was 0 231 129 026 OR 0 231 129 033

Maximum 16 degrees of advance. (see attached for these specs and the curve).

I'll be near my car sometime this weekend. I'l check to see what the distributor number is. Pretty sure it's the original.

**Also if you need any ti specific photos, let me know now, because after tomorrow, (Sunday), I probably won't see the car for another 4 months.

For a 2002Ti 033 is the earlier iron case distributor, 037 is the later aluminum case. The 037 was also used on very early Tii's ('71).

I dug these pdf pages out of the Bosch Automotive Tradition (archive) website. The 2002Ti one shows that the 033 distributor was used up till 06/70 and after that it was the 037. The 008 was never used for a 2002Ti.

http://www.automotive-tradition.de/en/wissen/recherche.htm

That said, if your Ti was made after 06/70 but say, around a few months after that, it may have had either distributor as on hand stock of the 033 was used up and the 037 was phased in.

My Dad's 2002Tii came with an 037 when new (original owner). It is 2760007, Oct '71 production. I have also recently worked on 2760210 and it also still has a 037 distributor.

There is currently an 033 on German eBay, item# 150689554150

Not confirmed, but I also have read that the Bosch 0 231 129 026 (used on the 67 2000CS) may have also been used on the very early Ti's...black iron housing similar to the 033

Thanks Tony!

My car was built 08/70 so I need the later aluminium case 037. Its a shame because I like the look of the steel ones that are painted black.

Thanks again.
