how to remove instrument cluster

The speedo on my '74 is not working and I'd like to check it. Have the manuals on order, but it will take a few days.

How do I remove the instrument cluster?

I pulled the speedo and the needle moved when I turned the drive manually.

So wondering if the longer cable was installed during the 5-speed conversion. Where on the tranny does the speedo cable hook up?

The Site Search, above and to the right, using speedometer cable, brought up the thread below. The last photo in Jim Gerock's response is a good photo.

After backing out the keeper bolt, the cable goes into a hole. Then snug up that keeper bolt to keep the cable in. You can see the keeper bolt in Jim's photo too. I think it is has an M5 or M6 head. It is somewhat small.
