Not mine, but I came so so close to buying it today. The only reason I didn't was because I have plans to put a diesel into a 2002 and this car is just too cool and old school to split up. That's why im posting it here so hopefully some one on this forum will bring it to its former glory. The owner is a BMW nut and a cool guy. The body is very dry. Only one small spot of rust through in the engine compartment right next to the battery. Non original hood. All bright work up front, headlight and center grills, a little dinged up though. Red center taillights, red tip antenna, three piece dash with the chrome strip on the lower section, there was a chrome bar that swivels out in the glove compartment, mechanical clutch, 12 volt conversion but was originally a 6- volt car, not sure about the diff, axles had those cool clear boots on, stipled front hood trim a little dinged up. Lots of the old school stuff is there, however, the interior needs a bit of work. Anyway, I thought this car was way cool and a good deal for someone out there. I think the only reason it's still available is because it was listed on craigslist as BMW 1600. European vin#1530201.

Good luck to whoever scores this car. BTW I ended up buying a totally dry 1975 fjord automatic 2- owner California car for my diesel project.'>http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/2764348154.html

Cool heads up couttsdesign thank you for posting. I love hearing of '67s coming out of the woodwork, especially in California. Very good looking early prospect. Any Luck T.R.?

I snapped screenshots of the pictures and ad for prosperity. That way, when people come back in a search they can see what in the world we're actually talking about. :)

Hi Tom,

I went to go see the 1600 Sunday morning. Nice owner, but too much of a project for me. Needs body work, complete paint, gaskets, trim, ect. Prior front passenger nose panel repair poorly done and had front fender displaced posteriorly some with accident. Rust hole next to battery as already mentioned, but also bubbling bilateral rear rocker panels. Did not inspect floors. Seats not original, nor steering wheel. Needs complete interior redo. Unknown mechanicals, but was able to get engine running in driveway. Car has been sitting in garage for a long time. Owner will take $2,200 for car, but could easily run upwards of 20K for restoration. May be a good deal however for someone able to perform his or her own needed work.

T.R.
