The car is a true sacrafice at this price.

1973 BMW 2002 non-sunroof 4-speed

zero miles on all items listed, only test driven once, unpainted, to test engine / driveline

COSMETICS:

New riviera paint. (Traded ’95 HD 1200 Sportster for paint) door jambs & hood latch cover need touch-up

Rear bumper mounted with ’72 bumper brackets

Front bumper (not mounted - needs ’72 brackets) ’73 bumper with overriders in nice, driver condition

New Aamco (sp?) front bumper bar, used rear (decent) not installed

New kidney grille

Decent side grilles (driver quality)

New euro front turn signals & gaskets

New (raised type) roundels & “2002” emblem

Nice flag mirrors for both sides of car (right door not drilled yet)

All new plastic trim clips & stainless Rimspoke clips, many already installed

Many beltline & knee mouldings installed “decent” driver quality (subjective)

New trunk gasket (not installed)

New windshield gaskets (not installed)

New cowl drain tubes installed

New hood seal installed

New hood side seals (by hood latch bar) not installed

New aftermarket hood insulation installed (3 pieces)

Rear sub-frame powdercoated, new sub-frame mounts installed

Trailing arms powdercoated, new stock bushings installed

Rear (stock) springs powdercoated

New Boge (OEM) rear shocks

19mm rear swaybar installed with stock rubber bushings

Rear brake backing plates powdercoated

Rear differential upper mount nicely painted, bushings used but excellent

Front sub-frame powdercoated

Front control arms and strut rods powdercoated, all new stock bushings installed

New ball joints installed, bolts thread-locked, torqued, and tie-wired

New tie rod assemblies, new center link, new idler arm bushings

Pitman arm powdercoated

Front strut housings powdercoated

Front (stock) springs powdercoated

Excellent used Bilstein strut inserts installed (will include NOS Boge front inserts & hardware in sale)

19mm front swaybar installed with stock rubber bushings

Front disc brake backing plates powdercoated

WHEELS, TIRES, and BRAKES:

Repainted 5X13 stock steel wheels including spare (Mike Wooldridge)

New Kumho 185-70-R13 tires, new valve stems and factory BMW valve stem caps

Excellent factory chrome wheel covers with new emblems installed (Mike Wooldridge)

New ATE front brake rotors

New front wheel bearings and seals installed with Mobil 1 grease

“New” factory remanufactured front brake calipers with organic pads

New ATE rubber brake hoses (4 front , 2 rear)

New rear brake hydraulic wheel cylinders

New Textar rear brake shoes

Refinished & repainted rear brake drums

New parking brake cables installed

New rear wheel bearings & seals installed with Mobil 1 grease

New ATE brake master cylinder

New cloth braided brake fluid supply hose

New brake fluid reservoir

ATE Super Blue brake fluid (I’ve had good experience with it)

ENGINE, COOLING, and EXHAUST:

Engine completely rebuilt (except used tii pistons installed) does not match VIN of vehicle

Used, standard bore 9.5:1 Mahle piano top tii pistons installed

New standard bore Goetze piston rings

Block precisely measured to accept pistons at standard bore with light honing

Block chemically cleaned, freeze plugs replaced, and painted black

Crankshaft polished standard

Connecting rods resized, new wristpin bushings installed and honed

Rotating assembly meticulously assembled with Glyco rod and main bearings

Cylinder head cleaned, inspected, and lightly resurfaced (with upper timing cover)

Valve job performed, new valve guides installed with Viton valve stem seals

New intake & exhaust rocker shafts installed

Korman 292 degree reground camshaft

New stock exhaust studs installed using thread sealant

New stock head bolts

New Iwis double row timing chain, new OE camshaft & crankshaft sprockets

New timing chain guide, tensioner rail and tensioner piston & spring

New Febi / Bilstein oil pump installed and shimmed

New Iwis oil pump chain & OE sprocket, locknut, and washer

New Hepu water pump

New BMW “tropical” 400mm fan blade

New Continental alternator belt

Entire engine assembled using Victor-Reinz upper & lower gasket sets

New stock engine mounts, block brackets painted

Stock exhaust manifold vigorously cleaned & installed with E30 M10 heat shield exhaust gasket

New stock replacement center exhaust section and rear muffler

All new exhaust mounting hardware properly installed in stock locations

Stock radiator professionally cleaned / rodded, painted, and verified leak free

New 180 degree Wahler thermostat

All new cooling system hoses installed with modern BMW (Wurth) hose clamps

All peripheral engine components media blasted & repainted

New Bosch Super’s, plug wires, cap & rotor

New Hot Spark points replacement ignition module

Weber 32/36 DGV with Sync – Link synchronous conversion from Pegasus Racing

(I intended to replace this with a new Weber 38 DGES)

Air cleaner adapter for stock two bbl air cleaner to Weber

Nice stock breather with new air filter

All rubber fuel hoses on vehicle replaced

Remanufactured Bosch 70A internally regulated alternator

New battery (has been sitting)

TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE:

Excellent used 4 speed transmission cleaned & repainted (so-so paint)

60,000 mile +/- driveshaft removed from Larry Wilson’s (IN) incredible schwarz ‘75

New guibo joint & center support bearing

Rebuilt late type shifter mechanism, new floor insulation donut, wooden BMW logo screw-on shift knob

New Sachs 215mm clutch kit (Disc, Pressure Plate, Throwout Bearing, and Pilot Bearing)

Resurfaced E30 M10 215mm flywheel (lighter than ’02 215mm unit)

New ATE clutch master & slave cylinders

New slave cylinder hydraulic hose

Stock 3.64:1 rear differential in excellent condition. Cleaned, painted, new cover gasket

All rear axle joints cleaned & repacked, all C/V boots & clamps replaced

All axle hardware installed with thread-locking compound

Appropriate Redline oils in transmission & differential

INTERIOR & MISCELLANEOUS:

New speedometer cable

New Al “Blue Devil” Erkanli front seatbelts (not installed)

New blower motor (came without blade, balance may be off slightly) works fine

Blue door panes DO have speaker holes unfortunately, as does rear deck

New PKB rear parcel shelf

New Esty carpet kit, blue (I was going blue on blue in this car – not too late to go with black)

All instrument panel bulbs replaced (not sure about odometer gears)

Original headliner in decent shape (one tear needs to be repaired)

Decent original long, non-A/C console (not installed)

Period correct Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo (not installed)

Correct, early used rear seats, blue (not installed)

’76 tan front seats & nice sheepskins (driver’s seat upholstery split / passenger’s nice - was planning to SEM spray them blue)

Dash has a crack in it (not terrible)

Budweiser...It's not just for breakfast anymore.
