Bumper Question

tii bimmer

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of restoring a 72 tii (hemorrhaging money), and I am struggling with getting the front bumper replaced.

My original bumper brackets are slightly bent and aI am wondering what brackets are compatible. I saw a pair of early brackets that look different than mine and wander if they will work. Also, will the 73 brackets work? Any fit problems?

I too think you could straighten yours.

You can still buy the '72 type new, but now at a staggering $50 each.

2 years ago I bought a new pair and they were around $22 each.

Since both of mine are bent, I'm not quite sure what position they should be in.

Are they easy to bend? I thought that was spring steel.

Armond;where did you get 14 bucks quote, parts.com? If they are coming from Europe, add 15-20% mark up. They are more like 25 bucks each.

Armond,

I found these parts at DDM for even less. $13.26 and $16.90 (not sure why they different prices).

Are these the same as my 72 brackets? I can't tell by the diagram if they have the extra twist in the bend. Do you know?

Thanks,
