you'll need to drill holes through the front frame rails for through bolts, as these much heavier brackets don't use the carriage bolts and keyhole mounting slots that the earlier cars use.

It's not a terribly difficult job if you have a long enough 8 or 10 mm drill bit and make sure the holes you drill go through the frame rail horizontally and not at an angle. Best way is to make a paper template from a '73 to get the correct location. You can also move the holes back an inch or two so the bumper doesn't protrude quite as much, since you're not having to meet the Federal 2 1/2 mph impact requirements from 1973.

I prefer the heavier mounts as they provide a bit more protection than the earlier, much flimsier brackets.
